Bulletin

Welcome to West Virginia's official online hauling permit system. This site issues permits for oversize and overweight vehicles along state owned routes. This includes Interstate, Turnpike, US, WV, and County routes. Permits for local or city routes should be obtained from those respective agencies.

Important System Message: A planned upgrade will be taking place the evening of February 6th, the upgrade is going to update the mapping portion where routes are selected. Many additional routes will be available after this upgrade is complete. One issue that may arise as a result of this upgrade will be lost routes on previous permits that could arise when copying previous permits, and saved routes that will have to saved again using the new map.

Attention: Before applying for any permits, please view the restriction information located at the following links: http://wv511.org Select LIST VIEWS, then PLANNED EVENTS for information on interstate and US routes. For specific WVDOH district information go to http://transportation.wv.gov/highways/districts/Pages/default.aspx Then select corresponding district, then choose district work zones.

Single trip Oversize/Overweight/Superload permits are not to be used for Mobile Homes

Overweight annual permits can only be utilized by combination vehicles with five (5) or more axles, single unit vehicles can only utilize an oversize annual permit.

Electronic as well as paper copies of hauling permits are now valid for travel in West Virginia.

*** Permitted travel time policies have changed. Please see 'West Virginia Permit Information', under 'Reference Material', for details.***
